Dave's Music Page

Welcome, one and all! As time permits, I hope to provide more and more material related to various bands I have played in, going all the way back to the very first band I was in.

Frankie and the Know-It-Alls
My current group is led by Frank Albert on guitar and vocals, with myself on keyboards and vocals, Ron Sloan on drums, and Bob Lee on bass. We've been playing in bars around the Hartford area since January 2006, and recorded these demo tracks in the basement one evening.

They may take a minute for your computer to download, but these links do work. Hope you like 'em!

The Buick All-Stars
From 2001 to 2003, I had a little combo called the "Dave Branning Trio." I sang and played piano/organ, with Mark Ginsberg on guitar and Michael Powers on drums. We played a total of about 30 shows in Champaign-Urbana, IL. Our favorite place to play was a little bar and grill called The Embassy.

When I moved to Terre Haute, IN, the other two guys in the DBT wanted to keep playing together, so they recruited a couple of new members and renamed themselves "The Buick All-Stars," in tribute to my 1984 Buick LeSabre (affectionately named "Leroy" by a friend of mine.) On New Year's Eve, 2003, I went back to the Embassy, and sat in with the Buicks. Here's a recording of our ten-minute improvisational version of Low Rider from that night. Enjoy!

Burning Sensation
One of my fantasies was always to play drums in a rock band. Little did I realize how elaborately it would all play out when I finally got the chance. In early 2001, while I was working in Washington DC, some friends and I decided to form a band that would play hard rock from the 70's and 80's -- the era we grew up in -- and we wouldn't be stopped by the fact that none of us knew how to play our instruments.

You can check out the hilarious web site, for a tour of what Burning Sensation is all about.
